Technology and Status in USA
Recently, an industry analyst from research firm McKinsey & Company stated that we are currently in the “Honeymoon” phase of Artificial Intelligence technology and Robotics industry. He explained that we are at the “tech wave” of our industry. This article is my view of the status of Artificial Intelligence/Robotics in USA. The topic of Artificial Intelligent Systems/ART (artificial intelligence plus robotics) is getting closer to a major breakthrough.
I believe that the United States of America is at the forefront of technology and have been for quite some time. We lead the world in technology and have developed technology faster than any other nation. For instance, we have developed technologies that allow the human body to heal itself from most types of injury, or even allow it to reconfigure itself when it is damaged. Also, we have technology that allows us to have computers online 24 hours a day and can surf the internet from virtually anywhere on the planet.
So, let’s not lose sight of what makes us. We lead the world in technology and we lead the world in robotic technology and artificial intelligence. In fact, the United States Military has the most sophisticated computer network in the world. It is considered the leader in military, artificial intelligence research.
We have a massive amount of computer and robotic technology that is spread around the world. Some of it is very old and obsolete. Some of it is new and relatively expensive. One of the most expensive and state-of-the-art technologies is called the Tactical Response System or ART.
This system was developed by Raytheon and its main intent is to create a fully robotic ground and surface robotic systems. Some examples of some of the systems in this industry are mentioned below. These systems have been developed and are used in the United States Military.
One such system is the Joint Assistance Net Assessment Mapping System or JANAS. It is part of the Joint Integration Research and Development System or JiriNet. It was developed by JiriNet to provide rapid assessment and evaluation of entire networks. This system uses the information provided by the human intelligence data to map the entire network. One of the great benefits of this system is that it can assess a wide area for a single person or a small team to work on.
Another system is the Tactical Response System or TRASMA. This system is also part of JiriNet and has been operational in the Department of Defense since 1998. It assesses the entire battlespace using both remote sensing and analysis systems.
There are a number of other technologies and statup in USA available in the market that are relevant to the defense and unmanned operations industry. Robotic technologies alone cannot solve all the complex challenges associated with the UAV and AI unmanned aerial vehicle and system. However, these technologies combined with statistical analysis will go a long way in making our nation safer and more secure.
One such technology is Optical Flow Sensors. These sensors help a robotic arm to capture data during the entire flight and analyze it afterwards. The analysis is usually used to fine tune the performance of the autonomous system. Optical flow sensors also play a role in providing the military with real time data in the battlefield. In fact, the United States Military relies heavily on optical flow sensors and camera sensors for robotic and unmanned systems.
Optical Flow Sensors and Camera: This technology and statup in USA are a new and emerging technology that will form an important part of future unmanned aerial vehicle systems. Optical flow sensors use light detectors to detect the motion in the atmosphere. When the light passes over a detector, the sensor can tell us what is happening inside the picture.
A number of nations across the world are using optical flow sensors and camera systems in their autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle systems. One of the main reasons why this technology and statup in USA are emerging into the arsenals of nation states and using the military as a first line of defense is because of its ability to distinguish between targets and non-targets. The system can differentiate between a human or a vehicle. It also has the ability to distinguish between stationary and moving targets. Another important technology and statup in USA are its artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence, which can be defined as a way of artificially controlling a computer system, was developed back in the 1960s. Today, researchers are trying to make this artificial intelligence work in a battlefield setting. However, it would be exciting to see how much further robotic vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles would be able to be operated by artificial intelligence.
